U11's and 12's Entertain Castlehaven

Our U11 and U12 footballers welcomed Castlehaven to Wolfe Tone Park on Friday evening last for two challenge games. The teams were divided into mainly U11 and U12 teams for the matches.

The U12 game was a competitive affair with Bantry just ahead at half time, 3-05 to 3-04. The goals had come courtesy of Ciaran Thornton, Ayrton Doyle and Kevin Clifford with Shane Crowley among the point scorers. Castlehaven took the initiative and scored three unanswered points after the restart but Blues got back into the game with great defending by Greg Cotter, Jack O’Brien and Ted Wiseman. In the end the visitors ran out winners by 4-14 to 4-09 but it was an enjoyable and exciting evening for all as it usually is when these clubs meet.

Team: Daniel Downey, Charlie Lavin, Greg Cotter, Matthew Harley, Jack O’Brien, Ted Wiseman, Shane Crowley, Ayrton Doyle, Ciaran Thornton, Kevin Clifford.

The other game was a nine-a-side with lots of scores and great play from both teams. Castlehaven just shaded it but the Bantry lads kept going to the end and did themselves proud.

Team: Timmy Keohane, Barry O’Shea, Ollie O’Shea, Keelan Lynch, Aiden O’Sullivan, Alex O’Donoghue, Stephen Keane, David Keane, Stephen Murnane.
