On Friday
evening Bantry Blues minor footballers made the journey to Killarney to play
Spa in a challenge. This turned out to be a fine sporting game which in which
the Blues came out on top by a scoreline of 1-16 to 0-15. The teams were level
at half time, 1-06 to 9 points and with all six forwards getting on the score
sheet over the game, the selectors will be happy with the outing.

Castlehaven was
the venue for the 10-a-side U15 football blitz Bantry played in on Saturday.
Blues played three games against Spa, Glanmire and Castlehaven, drawing in the
first and losing the other two.

On the same day an
U16 team travelled to Skibbereen to take part in a 7-a-side football tournament
there. Blues played two games, winning comfortably against O Donovan Rossa and
Clonakilty.
Bantry minor
hurlers came out on top in the 7-a-side tournament played in sunny Goleen on
Sunday. They had a convincing win against St Patricks in the first game,
likewise against Fastnet Gaels in the second. The final against St Patricks
again proved a much tighter affair with Blues just shading it by three points
in the end. Jimmy O’Leary and Gerald O’Sullivan were the goalscorers who led
the way and afterwards team captain Joe Murphy accepted the trophy on behalf of
his team.
